Built to Rotate. Engineered to Endure
Corrosion Engineering delivered a complete rotable chute package combining engineered chute design, heavy steel fabrication, custom ceramic lining and a purpose built support stand. The system allows the customer to maintain a fully lined chute ready for installation. When the operating chute is removed, it can be inspected and rebuilt while the prepared chute is installed, creating a repeatable rotation strategy for future maintenance cycles.

Challenges
Challenges
Challenges
This critical material handling chute operates in a demanding, high wear environment and requires periodic removal for inspection, maintenance and relining. Rebuilding a chute only after it has been removed can increase shutdown exposure and leave the operation waiting for fabrication or lining work to be completed. The customer needed a better strategy that would improve change out readiness while also providing a safe and stable method for supporting the chute when it was out of service.

Solutions
Corrosion Engineering provided a fully integrated package that included: 1. Application specific chute engineering and design 2. Complete heavy steel fabrication 3. Custom engineered ceramic wear lining 4. A purpose built rotable chute stand 5. A repeatable rotate, rebuild and stage maintenance strategy The stand securely supports the chute during inspection, repair, relining and storage. Once rebuilt, the chute can remain staged and ready for the next planned change out.

This project demonstrates that Corrosion Engineering’s capabilities extend far beyond supplying individual wear liners. From initial engineering and large scale fabrication to ceramic lining and maintenance support equipment, Corrosion Engineering can deliver complete, field ready solutions for projects of virtually any size. When the application demands more than an off-the-shelf product, we engineer the entire solution. Have a critical wear application or major fabrication project? Let Corrosion Engineering evaluate the challenge.
